Pedal Power Experience’s pump track is a fun and safe way to exercise and learn and practise basic cycling skills in order to safely ride a bike. It enables users to develop and improve bike handling, balance, and co-ordination skills in a short period of time. It is not about speed or endurance, but maintaining momentum in a smooth forward motion without pedaling. Similar to a swing, you use your body to absorb and compress over the rollers to create momentum. It’s great fun and exercise and a fantastic way for learning balance and co-ordination.
The Pump track is a continuous looped track that can be ridden without pedaling. The track consists of a series of rolling bumps (rollers) and banked corners (berms) that allow the rider to gain momentum and reach speeds of up to 20mph! The track is an oval shape with a berm at each end and rollers in between. The track section that take the rider from the rollers to the berms are called transitions.
